Therapeion is a Greek word that means healing of body and spirit.  At Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Center our focus is the healing nature of the interaction between humans and horses.

Therapeion was founded with the mission of providing equine assisted programs for persons with disabilities, children who have been victims of violence or abuse, children dealing with mental health issues, and for youth at risk.  These programs are currently in place. Future programs include a program for women recovering from abuse, a school literacy program, and the expansion of our Mobile Mini's Outreach Program, among others.

Our classes are held at Shepard Stable, which is located just west of Brookston, Indiana, 20 minutes north of Purdue University.

Please contact us if you wish to learn more about our programs, wish to enroll a rider or riders, or would like find out how you can help.

Therapeion is a PATH International member center and a member of the Indiana Horse Council.

In order to be able to expand our programing to serve more riders Therapeion needs to add an indoor arena and a climate controlled classroom.  We are the only therapeutic riding center serving Tippecanoe, White, Cass, Carroll, Clinton, and Benton Counties.

Our total budget for our barn renovation and arena construction project is $350,000.  Therapeutic riding makes miracles possible...join us in making miracles happen in the lives of our riders and their families by making a tax deductible donation to our EMPOWER Building Program!
