There are many ways to volunteer at Therapeion!

*Click on the above link to download the application.  If you are not able to download the application please e-mail Therapeion and we will mail one to you.

*Please complete the application and mail it to the Therapeion office prior to your volunteer orientation class.

*All volunteers must complete the "Therapeion Orientation" class prior to volunteering.

Our volunteer mentors are an integral part of the Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Center programs.   As a Therapeion volunteer you will receive training in safety, horse handling and grooming, behavior modification, and listening skills.   You will also be receiving program specific training by an employee of Tippecanoe County CPS or another appropriate agency prior to working with our special riders.

Our volunteer mentors work alongside the Therapeion instructor, helping the youth and adults in our programs build competence, confidence, cooperation, and improve communications and learning skills.

There is no way to describe the rewards you will receive as a therapeutic riding volunteer mentor.   Join the Therapeion team and experience the joy of helping others!

The volunteer training schedule can be found on the "Calendar" page.  Please contact the center director to enroll in your training classes.

Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you soon!

AMANDA BURGESS
2010 Volunteer Mentor of the Year

Amanda's dedication earned her the honor of being 2010 Volunteer of the Year.   During 2010 Amanda was an active participant in all Therapeion events, including working as a class volunteer, during the Annual Horse Show, assisting with new volunteer training classes, participated in the Brookston Apple Popcorn Festival booth, and many more.  Amanda even calls to see if there are things she can do on the days we don't have classes!

When not volunteering at Therapeion Amanda is a full time Purdue University student.
