Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Center is proud of their dedicated volunteer mentors and staff!
All new volunteers complete training that includes information on NARHA, therapeutic riding principles, working with individuals with disabilities, our youth at risk program, working with children who have been abused and neglected, and horse care and handling.
Our instructors are all NARHA certified or NARHA Instructors in Training who are completing their student teaching hours to become certified.
Therapeion horses have undergone special training to be able to work with our riders in all sorts of circumstances. They are valuable members of our therapy team.
Our Equine Care Team is responsible for the conditioning and care of our special horses. All Team members must have completed a minimum of one semester as a volunteer mentor, and be a Therapeion horse handler.
