You have the opportunity to help us improve and expand our programing to abused and neglected children by helping fund EMPOWER.
Therapeion is a Greek work that means healing of body and spirit. At Therapeion our focus is to help child victims of abuse and neglect along their path to recovery. In order to better serve our riders we have undertaken a renovation and building project.
Our building program, EMPOWER, consists of making much needed repairs to our barn and the addition of new facilities. While our existing barn is roomy, with great stalls and a wide grooming and tacking area, a lot of repair work needs to be done before we can begin our building project.
In addition to our barn repairs, we are adding
*an all weather Therapeion classroom
*a lounge area for parents, guardians, and other care givers to use while the kids are in class
*a handicapped accessible restroom
*a Therapeion tack room
*and a walk-trot indoor area!
We solicited many bids for this project and are pleased to announce that
D*K Construction has been awarded the contract.
Work will begin when our funding is in place with the goal of begriming construction in late summer of 2008.
The total for all repairs, new construction, and excavation, which includes allowances for much of the work being done by Therapeion volunteer staff,
is $200,000.
